Program Description
Throughout the Summer "Bridge" Session, students in this advanced course will explore the intricate relationship between how our relationships to locations shape our personal experiences. Through creative writing prompts, they will explore how different places have influenced their lives and identities, examining the nuanced meanings of "home" across cultures. Engaging in regular "quickwrites", students will craft paragraphs reflecting on the impact of geographical locations on their individual journeys while considering the broader implications for communities worldwide. By drawing from their insights into the impact of places and the concept of "home", students will articulate their dreams for community development through persuasive writing. As the culmination of their exploration, students will create argumentative essays that explain how their own neighborhoods can be improved through innovation, technology, and social projects in 100 years time.
