Program Description
**This is an Introduction to Chess summer course designed for children who are new to chess or have had very limited exposure to chess** Our Summer Introduction to Chess classes for beginners provide an engaging introduction to the game through storytelling, games, and interactive activities. Children will learn the basics of chess, including the chessboard, pieces, and basic strategies, over a 7-week course. Students with limited or no prior knowledge will discover the game's history, piece names, value, movement, and capture. Concepts like check, checkmate, stalemate, and castling will also be covered. Classes are designed to be interactive and playful, with a mix of board demonstrations and practical gameplay. Given the short duration of the program, the main objective of these classes is to ignite children's interest and enthusiasm for chess. Standard Cancellation Policy: Cancellations must be made at least 24 hours before the scheduled lesson time. Cancellations within the 24-hour notice period may incur a fee of up to 50% of the lesson cost. Full refunds are available for cancellations made with more than 24 hours' notice. In cases of emergency or illness, exceptions can be made at the discretion of the provider.
