Summer Camp 1

585 Studios was started in 2016 by Nina Bell. She grew up in Jersey City and as a child, always wanted a more challenging and inventive art experience. After graduating college at the Cooper Union in Manhattan, studying fine arts, Nina decided to open up her studio to children who love art the same way she does. 585 Studios is a place where children learn technique through working with real artist materials, and undertaking dynamic projects in a community full of other young artists. ​ Shortly after 585 Studios started, Nina was joined by her sister Madeleine, who studied architecture and design at the Cooper Union. Together Nina and Maddy have constructed an arts experience tailored to young artists who wish to immerse themselves into new aspects of art and to further their talents. As the Studio and community grew exponentially Nina opened another wing of the studio in which Maddy designed and renovated to make room for more enthusiastic young artists to join.
