Guitar Bar has been happy to serve the musicians of Hoboken and the surrounding New Jersey/New York City area since 1996. Owner and founder James Mastro has been a prominent figure in the Hoboken music scene since the early "glory days" of Maxwell's as a member of The Bongos. He is still an active recording and touring musician who has worked with the likes of Ian Hunter, Patti Smith, John Cale, The Jayhawks, and Robert Plant, to name a few. His experience and knowledge - along with our staff of likewise professionals - are resources that are gladly shared with the customers. We offer music lessons for students at all levels in all styles for a wide variety of instruments.
