Parent's share their kids' greatest gems

Kids' Activities

When you’re around kids long enough, you start to hear some things that really should be written down. The things that come unexpectedly out of kids’ mouths can be sweet, insightful, and downright hilarious. Never fear, for we at Wondrfly have compiled some of our favorite tweets from parents whose kids had something truly unique to say.

Sometimes kids just have better names for everyday things.

My daughter referred to her knee as a “leg mountain” #thingsmykidsays

Give them credit, when they don’t know the answer, they always have a good guess.

Husband: do you know the three states of matter?
Child: 🤔 Um is one New Jersey?

And even when they’re mistaken, they have good ideas.

My 10yo: Is there limbo in the Olympics? #thingskidssay #thingsmykidssay

Honestly, the invention of new words never ceases.

My wife: “Why is your nose running, Ivy? Were you crying?”

My almost-4-yo: “no, I was Bless-You-ing.”#thingsmykidssay

Ah yes, labor day. Also known as “everyone’s birthday”.

Today my 14yr old confessed to me that when she was younger, she thought Labor Day was the day moms all had their babies. #HappyLaborDay #thingsmykidssay #LaborDay

When they fail to be encouraging, at least they’re amusing.

Me: wish me luck, I’m going to wake your sister up

11 y.o: good luck. Your sacrifice will be remembered

Sometimes they seem privy to more information than we have.

“Dad, did you know you have more than the average number of arms?”#ThingsMyKidsSay

But it’s so rewarding when they pick up on the right ideas.

Picking up in my room & hear Simon (6) run behind me.
Without looking I say: I know you’re there. You’re behind the bed.
Simon: What! How did you know?!
Rolan (8): She’s Mom, she sees and knows all!
Me: Glad you’ve worked that out.#thingsmykidssay
